Many well-intentioned self help, coaching and goal setting approaches hinder creativity by ignoring essential truths about the human experience. They unintentionally obstruct the creative aspirations of others. Creativity transcends linear goals; it demands imagination, intuition, curiosity and courage to bypass fear and ego. Frustrated by dry, analytical & high pressure practices that stifle potential yet boast big ticket prices, Shay established the Life Design Creative methodology in response to providing much needed creativity based programs with more affordable options in the personal development, executive life coaching & leadership mentoring space. LDC is a celebration of authenticity, a journey to a more vibrant, alive self, accessible to all seeking to reignite their spark. The goal is to share the joy of creativity through gentle, compassionate, fun & playful experiences, helping people apply these tools for deeper self-expression. Art has a transformative power, breathing life into individuals, not only kindling their passion for the creative process but also fostering self-love in its purest formāembracing beautiful imperfections, loving oneself as they are and as they are not. Life Design is a proven self development methodology formulated to discover the truth of who we really are, to live our purpose, and design the life we were meant to live.āØ This approach begins by using art & design elements, principles & methods, with consideration of advanced human centred design, social design & human experience design. Backed up with behavioural neuroscience, āØas well as contemporary spiritual āØteaching and philosophy, āØLife Design is an integral & wholistic coaching practice delivering consistent, āØundeniable results. Participants awaken the artist within, not just of their craft, but of the very act of being alive. This model is not just about working with people who want to be more creative or get through creativity blocks, it is also about using creative tools for anyone who wants to move toward being more alive in a way that feels like coming home to oneself to discover the very essence of who you are & being delighted & empowered by your own limitless enigmatic energy.
The way we live can be defined by their term ālifestyleā. Lifestyle is the interests, opinions, behaviours, and behavioural orientations of an individual, group, or culture. It is the pattern of habits for how you spend your time, energy and money. Those habits include how you work, have fun, learn, energise yourself, cope with stresses, spend time with other people and generally engage with life. The LDC logo is based on the pikorua Maori symbol known as āThe path of love and lifeā. It represents the journey of life, friendship, eternity and loyalty, as well as the connection of people and the joining of different cultures. In the centre a Koru hides in the negative space. The koru (MÄori for 'loop or coil') is a spiral shape based on the appearance of a new unfurling silver fern frond. It is an integral symbol in MÄori art, carving and tattooing, where it symbolises new life, growth, strength and peace.
The reason you get up in the morning - your āwhyā - can be defined by the term ālife purposeā. Life purpose consists of the central motivating aims of your life. Purpose can guide life decisions, influence behaviour, shape goals, offer a sense of direction, and create meaning. For some people, purpose is connected to vocation-meaningful, satisfying work. For others, their purpose lies in their responsibilities to their family or friends. Others seek meaning through spirituality or religious beliefs. Some people may find their purpose clearly expressed in all these aspects of life. Purpose will be unique for everyone; what you identify as your path may be different from others. Whatās more, your purpose can actually shift and change throughout life in response to evolving priorities and fluctuations of your own experiences.
Design is to create, fashion, execute, or construct according to plan. To conceive and plan out in the mind. To have a purpose. To devise for a specific function or end. Design is permission to stand up and say: āWait a minute, thatās not greatā. And more importantly, āIām going to figure out how to improve it.ā Design is a process of developing purposeful and innovative solutions that embody functional and aesthetic demands based on needs of the intended user. Design is applied in the development of goods, services, processes, messages and environments.
Designers initial ideas rarely solve a problem. Instead they try different ideas, learn from their mistakes (design flaws & failures), & try again. The steps designers use to arrive at a solution are called the design process. The design process is a guide or framework used to oversee the execution of the objective/goal, typically involving breaking the process up into smaller chunks & evaluating progress at several specific milestones. These stages and steps are clearly defined & followed to produce a solution to a specific problem or perform a specific task or purpose.

Core areas of the human experience
Elements of art & design are the stylistic features within an art piece or design to help the artist/designer communicate. They are the letters & words of the language of art.
If the elements are our letters & words of the language of art, the 8 āBASEā principles of art & design are the grammatical rules & help art make sense.
The 8 āBOOSTERā principles articulate & amplify what is said through the language of art. It is how effectively the original intent is portrayed.
